About Me I was born in Gloversville the youngest of three children. I attended Kingsboro and Boulevard schools and lived here until the end of my freshman year at Estee Jr. High School. The glove industry had started its decline and my father decided to move our family to California. I concluded my high school education at Inglewood High School, Inglewood California. I then married and became the mother of three children. I decided to attend college, thus enabling me to provide a better living for my family. I earned degrees in Accounting and Business Administration at El Camino and Moorpark Colleges.
I have worked in accounting positions for the Automobile Club of Southern California, and for Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Corporation. I held a position as bookkeeper for National Education Corporation and was then promoted to Business Manager. After several years there, I was offered a position with the Major Safe Company as their Business Manager. I continued employment there until they closed their business. Following the closure of Major Safe Company, I was hired in the position of Residential Properties Business Manager by the Casden Development Company, one of the largest residential and commercial developers in Southern California.
Some years later, seeking a change, I relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada where I became employed as a district manager by Balcor Property Management which was the residential/commercial property division of Shearson-Lehman American Express. When Balcor began to dissolve their property division, my thoughts turned to "home", Gloversville.
While at both Casden Development Company and Balcor Property Management I was responsible for developing annual budgets for multiple properties, preparing monthly and annual financial reports, the interviewing and hiring of personnel, negotiating contracts with sub-contractors, the supervision of as many as 100 employees at one time in addition to handling other duties as required.
I moved back to Gloversville where I have remained for the past 17 years. I became involved in the history of Gloversville and my interest led me to volunteer for the position of City Historian which I held for 3 years. In more recent years I have held the position of Deputy City Historian. I also became involved in volunteering for many organizations, which I do to this day.
